Midway Christmas Party

The pictures didn't turn out great but the kids did get to see Santa this year. Corbin's school had a Christmas Party and Santa was there. They also got to decorate cookies and eat them of course. It was a good event.

Dad had to help inspire Madalyn to eat her cookie. She wasn't sure she really wanted to. I think Nate or I actually ended up eating it. She didn't really care for it.

"Ready to go yet hun?"

As you can see, Corbin didn't need any help eating his cookie. He thoroughly enjoyed it.

My NEW Favorite Cookies!

These are called Cinnamon Spiced Hot Chocolate Cookies and they are SO yummy! The name threw me at first. I thought they were supposed to taste like Hot Cocoa, but the hot comes from the cayenne pepper that you throw in to give it a little kick! Spicy cookies??? Why didn't I think of that???

The First Snow of Michigan

Yay! It snowed! The kids couldn't wait to get out and play in it. Thanks to Grandma they had snowpants and snowboots to make them more comfortable.

My little snow angel wasn't too sure about this playing in the snow business. She didn't stay out very long.

A WHOLE lot of naughty

So this is our basement. And I let the kids play unattended for a little while. BIG mistake! This is what I found when I finally went to check on them:

They were in so much trouble. Unfortunately this was hardly the last time this happened over the winter :(

Reveling in the Autumn wonders of Michigan

Nathan and i enjoyed having a much smaller amount of leaves to deal with this year. Raking the leaves was actually done mostly by me, which I am quite proud of. I earned my keep in the yard work department. So Madalyn was napping at this time while the rest of us worked on the leaves. Corbin particularly enjoyed jumping into the piles that we made. It was fun.

He kept getting covered completely by leaves because he would just sit there and let us throw the leaves on him.

The finished Caramel Apples!

So I looked around and found these pictures of the finished caramel apples. They turned out really good and we shared them with our friends.

They were really gooey! The kids thought they were pretty neat.

"Oh mom! This is the yummiest treat EVER!"

"It's good mom, but it is kinda hard to eat!"

Making Rolls and Caramel Apples

Corbin is always excited to do things to help around the house. He is helping clean the apples so we can make our first ever caramel apples, which I forgot to photograph. But we had such a great time on this day that I had to include it.

Madalyn is helping mommy to roll the dough into balls.

Corbin is an awesome helper. He always does it with a smile.

Maddy loved getting to hold and roll the dough.

Getting dough out from under your fingernails is never easy, but I do it with a smile ;)
